A golden menagerie

This belt is one of my favourite accessories in my closet. I bought it a couple of months ago at the vintage market in Spitalfields. The running leopards are so much fun and it really brightens up an outfit.

A few bags have caught my eye lately..... guess why?

If I might collect them all, I can start building a menagerie of gold animal accessories.

One jacket, four looks under £65 - H&M

{JacketOutfit 1: Tube top; Skirt; Shoes; Clutch. Outfit 2: Dress; Bag; Ballet pumps

Following on from my previous post, it can be concluded that I am obviously obsessed with these jackets. I came across this beaut on the H&M site and decided to see how many different ways I can style it. The answer is infinite. So I decided to focus on focusing on using some of my favourite things: the colour yellow, black & white stripes, and as I have now discovered, plimsoles. The best part is that each outfit comes at under £65.

Also I just have to ask: how awesome is this tool?? You can choose the model, your background, and have the whole shop full of clothes to play with. I wish more brands gave you this option.

What's your current trend obsession and how many ways can you style it?

The Peril of Magnificent Love by Emma Magenta

One of my favourite illustrators and writers definitely has to be Emma Magenta. I came across her first book, The Peril of Magnificent Love by accident and completely fell in love with the drawings and story.

It's about a girl who falls in love with a boy (a three eared rabbit) and leaves everything including herself behind to pursue his love.

When she finally gets it, she is happy for a while, but then realises how much of herself she has had to change to be with him.

Eventually she learns to love herself first and becomes truly happy.

This is a lovely little book with a great message!

Learn more about Emma and read her thoughts on her blog.

Shoplove: MonPlacard Boutique

With spring approaching, a shopping bug has bitten me. That being said, I am a lot more pickier with my purchases these days. I've been trying to invest in pieces that I could wear in many different ways, soft fabrics, and are basics with a little twist. I also love discovering new shops!

I came across MonPlacard Boutique while browsing Facebook one day. I was instantly drawn to a double breasted trench coat.  What I discovered is a really lovely online shop with an abundance of fashionable clothing and accessories at great prices.

The boutique is owned by Samreen Waseem, a fashion designer who aims to bring her customers theher handpicked picked trends that mirror her own personal style. She is also currently working on her own collection. Samreen kindly agreed to an interview that you will find below.

Here are the goodies that I bought:

The double breasted trench is so soft and the style totally unique, the long stretch dress is the perfect length, and the regal print square scarf is just what I have been searching far and wide for.

Here are some things you should know about Samreen and her awesome boutique:

1) How would you describe your personal style?

My personal style is very much casual! I love to follow the latest trends! I buy for my boutique as I would for myself, so some of the stuff you see on my site is pretty much what I have in my wardrobe!

However I still have days where I love to dress up and feel glamorous, that's when I get my heels out!

2) What in fashion has inspired you the most?

Fashion in itself is a very big inspiration for me, its the biggest part of my life and I couldn't see myself doing anything else. It has been my dream since I was a very young girl to be in the fashion business and I can officially say I am living my dream!

3) When will you be releasing your own designs?

I am currently working on my own label so hopefully I should be releasing my designs very soon. I also love menswear and will be looking into designing a menswear label as well as women's.

4) Where do you see yourself and your boutique in 5 years?

I would love for my boutique to expand within the next 5 years. I want it to be alot more known and on a much bigger scale, I would love to be as big as ASOS!

5) What is your favourite coffee shop?

I'm not much of a coffee or tea drinker, but I do visit costa or starbucks once in a while. I have to admit it creates a great atmosphere and is a good way to socialise and catch up with friends!

I am a big fan of MonPlacard Boutique! Make sure you check it out!

There is also a sale going on at the moment with up to 50% off the autumn/winter items.

Scrapbooking is what Sundays are for...

I love ripping out my favourite pics and bits out of magazines to keep for later. Later has been finding the time to finally scrapbook an overstuffed sketchbook of bits of paper. I have been totally inspired by one of my favourite bloggers, Katrina at Pugly Pixel, who makes the best collages. She also gives amazing CSS and Photoshop tutorials. Hey girl!

Hope you all had a lovely Sunday peeps!

I think I need a haircut...

I found these pictures a week or 2 ago that the lovely Ruby took of me last year.

I've been toying with the idea of cutting my hair again... decisions decisions.

I am a giant ear... loving the Frends rose gold collection

On the topic of music from yesterday's post, how gorgeous is this Frends rose gold collection?

It's so hard to choose between these three beauties. Which one do you prefer?

I love it when functionality meets fashion!

Music totally brightens up my day, makes the commute to work and the gym bearable, and bonds people over their favourite songs. I love a good boogie too!

I am also the resident DJ in the office - voluntarily and elected. We usually have Motown classics sailing across our open planned space on Fridays. Just the other day when I was off sick, I came in to people telling me they missed my tunes. How sweet is that??

Uhu Yeah - a playlist

These songs have been blasting through my speakers lately.

What does your playlist look like these days?

Cafelove: Artisan in Putney

One of my favourite if not THE favourite cafes in London is Artisan in Putney. Opening just about a year ago, it has become very popular for Putney-ites and others alike. I remember following Edwin and Magda's journey of setting up the cafe on Facebook back in 2011. I am always inspired by people who take risks and follow their dreams am so happy to see how well Artisan is doing.

This past weekend I finally got my act together and took my camera along to take some pictures of my Artisan experience. My coffee date, Greg, was glad to oblige and join me there for a late lunch.

I love their lights and stools! People usually share tables, but we opted to sit looking out the front window to people watch.

Yum! I had delicious yoghurt with granola and berry compote and Greg had a sandwich with pesto, tomatoes and cheese. We both had the usual flat white - a must!

Some banana bread with lashings of butter followed for Greg. I need to try it next time, but I was stuffed.

Artisan have opened a new cafe in Stamford Brook. I'll have to check it out soon.

Coffee lovers unite!

I was never much of a hat person... til now!

The above is true. Something having to do with having a head that doesn't fit hats right (read: I have a big head and beanies don't count). Well I thought so anyway. I've changed my mind about hats now and this is my first baby from Accessorize. I had my eye on it for a week or 2 so last Friday when I had the opportunity during lunchtime, I went and I purchased. Both a stylish alternative to an umbrella and an awesome compliment magnet, I must say I am quite happy with my new relationship with hats.

Take yo mama out tonight

Today in the UK mamas are being showered with gifts, pampering and much earned appreciation. It's actually been a long weekend of women's appreciation with International Women's Day having taken place on Friday. Girl power!

My mom is in the US where Mother's Day is not until May so I have not taken part in this lovely holiday just yet. But in honour of all the mamas here spending a great day with their families today, here are some photographs I took yesterday of flowers and sweets at Bayley & Sage in Parsons Green.

Happy Mother's Day!

I hope you all are having a lovely Sunday too!
