It's all about a bag

Dress and tank top: Miss Selfridge; Cardigan and boots: Pull and Bear; Tights: River Island
Belt: TRF, Zara; Necklace: Primark; Bracelet: Oliver Bonas; Bag: Vintage Dooney & Bourke

Yesterday I recieved my new baby. This beauty! A 1980s Dooney & Bourke bag purchased at Beyond Retro. I was so excited that I almost ripped open the pakcaging with my teeth!

Although this is a very popular brand in the US, I have realised that it is not commonly known of in the rest if the world. This has become evident due to some of the blank faces that I came across while proudly displaying my purchase at work. What started off as a company producing belts and suspenders in 1975, has grown into a full on accessories, modelled by many famous young actresses such as Mischa Barton and Emma Roberts. Check out their US site here.

I have wanting a D&B bag for ages and although I am loving their new Happy Bags which come in a collection of juicy candy colours, I am drawn to their classic equestrian design. I believe that this bag is Post 1983 as the logo features the duck synonymous with the brand following that year and currently today. I am really amazed at the quality of it as although the handle and trim are a bit worn (completely understandable for a 20+ year old bag), the inside is impeccable, the zipper works great, and the leather is in great shape. Whether this is a testament to D&B or to the person who loved this bag before me, I cannot say (I think both), but I do think my next D&B vintage beauty will confirm this query :). Stay tuned!
